Hand knotted rugs come with a strap binding on the side edges for a finish. The purpose is protection of edges and ultimately the rug from fraying. To repair a worn-out edge, two options are available. Depending on the customer’s demand, bindings can be selected from available cotton or wool tapes or it can be weaved and sewn in a color which blends with the look of the carpet.
